"Goldilocks and the Three Bears" is a popular English fairy-tale which has been around for a few hundred years. Many versions of this story has been told over the years but the most popular version, on which is this story is based, was written by Robert Southey and it was published in 1837. One interesting fact about the story is that the original version featured an old woman as the intruder. Twelve years after Southey's story was first published, another writer Joseph Cundall changed the old woman into a young girl and used the story in his "Treasures of Pleasure Books for Young Children" (1849).
